FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions about our Campsite in Monceaux-sur-Dordogne

Heated indoor pool all season · Direct access to the Dordogne · Family establishment since the 1950s · Monceaux-sur-Dordogne · Open from April 30 to November 21, 2026

General

When is the Au Soleil d'Oc campsite open in 2026?

From April 30 to November 21, 2026 — a 207-day season, one of the longest in Corrèze. This covers the May bank holidays, the entire summer season, and the autumn half-term holidays. The heated indoor pool is available throughout this period.

Is the pool open outside of the summer season?

Yes. This is the campsite’s main highlight: the heated indoor pool is open all season, from April 30 to November 21. In Corrèze, where May and September nights can be chilly, this is a real advantage compared to campsites that only have an outdoor pool. The outdoor pool opens as soon as the first warm weather arrives in May.

Can you swim directly in the Dordogne river?

The campsite has direct access to a private beach on the Dordogne. The water quality is excellent — the river is classified as a UNESCO biosphere reserve. In practice: the Dordogne is colder and stronger in the spring (not recommended for young children), and calmer and warmer in July and August. There are no lifeguards at the river — supervision remains the responsibility of parents.

How do I book and what are the rates?

Reservations are made on the official website campingsoleildoc.com. 2026 rates vary depending on the period (low, mid, high season) and the type of accommodation. Pitches and mobile homes can be booked online with secure payment. For stays during the May bank holidays or in July and August, booking in advance is highly recommended.

What's there to do around the campsite for a week?

A full week isn’t enough to see everything. The must-sees: canoeing and kayaking on the Dordogne (Argentat, 4 km), Collonges-la-Rouge (25 km, red sandstone village), Turenne (20 km, medieval town), Murel waterfalls (15 km, hiking). For full-day trips: Sarlat (40 km, Saturday market), Gouffre de Padirac (50 km, book online), Lascaux caves (45 km, Lascaux IV). See the sample itinerary above.
