Discover Terra Aventura from Camping Au Soleil d’Oc
What is Terra Aventura?
the adventure playground
Want to add a touch of adventure and mystery to your holiday? What if you went treasure hunting… for real? From Camping Au Soleil d’Oc, dive into the captivating world of Terra Aventura, a free and exciting 2.0 treasure trail—perfect for little and big explorers alike!
Terra Aventura is a digital treasure hunt created in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, combining hiking with discovering local heritage. This fun activity, guided by a free mobile app, offers families routes dotted with riddles and clues. At each stage, children collect little characters called Poï’z, and at the end they find the cache (a small nature treasure) with a logbook and their badge to take home. In Corrèze, Terra Aventura is described as “ a treasure hunt of a few kilometres that lets you discover Corrèze, its local heritage and its picturesque anecdotes… all while playing! ” tourismecorreze.com. It’s a mix of an active walk and a cultural game—perfect for a solo stroll or a family outing, while having fun.

The Terra Aventura world: a treasure hunt full of history and mischievous characters
go treasure hunting
Inspired by the worldwide geocaching concept, Terra Aventura was launched in 2011 with a simple mission: to help people discover local heritage in a fun way. Today, hundreds of routes cover the region, mixing historical anecdotes, hidden treasures and immersion in nature. Each itinerary comes with riddles to solve using your smartphone to find the final cache.
But what children (and grown-ups!) especially love are the Poï’z: little characters with big personalities, each linked to a specific theme (heritage, art, nature, gastronomy, etc.). At the end of the route, if you’ve answered the riddles correctly, you’ll discover a secret box containing a collectible Poï’z medallion. Zéroïk the hero, Zabeth the storyteller, Zonelib the scientist or Zéchopp the foodie—each has their own specialty, and kids really enjoy finding them all!
The benefits of Terra Aventura for campers (and their children)
do yourself some good
This activity is especially well suited to families staying at the campsite. It encourages children to walk and explore: a travel blog notes that Terra Aventura “has won children over” thanks to its themed riddles and the collection of fun little badges! (matribuenvadrouille.com).
Young campers love playing little explorers, using the smartphone as their guide and leading parents from riddle to riddle.
Tourist offices point out that “children are so happy to hold the smartphone and guide you… that the whole family gets into the game” (nouvelle-aquitaine-tourisme.com).
Along the way, the whole tribe discovers hidden corners of the area (historic lanes, viewpoints, local legends) and learns new anecdotes about the region together. It’s a great way to share quality family time while getting some fresh-air exercise!
