Sports

The Dordogne valley is an unspoilt, natural, unique environment in which you may practice hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horse trekking, paragliding and climbing. The less rigorous sports are fishing and kayaking. Otherwise just enjoy the beautiful countryside in the Dordogne valley.

Some suggestions to enjoy the pure air:
-cycling: ride without stress! Whether it’s along the riverside, on the lanes of the Dordogne, or the country routes that join the hills. For the more practised sports cyclist, the Dordogne is an ideal environment. There are tracks and rest places dedicated only to the VTT.

Hiking tracks from the campsite: Starting from Monceaux sur Dordogne there are several marked walks which take you through the beautiful countryside with great viewpoints. In Argentat there are easy walks along the quayside where you find the typical houses with the stone roofs of this region. In the surrounding area, there are some beautiful walks, one being the Murel waterfall at Forgès. By car, go to Forgès village where it is indicated.

Horse trekking: Horse trekking across the fields! For trekking or a simple walk, there are several riding schools near the campsite. The Garloue stables are five minutes’ walk from the campsite. There is riding for all levels all year round. Parents accompany the children on pony trails. More information on www.lesecuriesdegarloue.ffe.com
